The method of spreading the hot water uniformly over the top of the tower. Also, this is the part of a tower, beginning with the inlet connection, which distributes the hot circulating water within the tower to the points where it contacts the air. In a counterflow tower, this includes the header, laterals, and distribution nozzles. In a crossflow tower, the system consists of the header or manifold, valves, distribution box, basin pan, and nozzles.
