G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment

The G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment system resolves some of the most pressing industrial water treatment concerns facilities leaders and technicians face with the water treatment chemicals needed to maintain their cooling towers, closed-loop systems, and boilers. With Garratt-Callahan’s certifications and more than a century of deep expertise in commercial water treatment, we have created a solution that improves regulatory compliance, environmental impact and safety.

What is G-C SolidTracⓇ?

Traditionally, commercial water treatment chemicals would be pumped into the system from 55-gallon drums. These delivery systems can leak, spill, splash, and cause safety hazards that lead to risk and liability. The G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment system resolves these concerns with a space-saving solid chemical solution that gradually dissolves into the system as needed through a mechanical, non-electrical, but fully-automated system technicians can easily control.

Instead of storing and moving liquid water treatment chemicals in heavy, cumbersome containers or totes, proven liquid chemical formulations are compressed and stored as a dissolvable concentrate in solid 5-pound discs. These discs are easy to move, easy to store and feed into the system using the G-C SolidTracⓇ dissolver.  The precise dosing of the dissolver can be enhanced with the continuous monitoring of the G-C LumiTrac Controller. This solid chemical cooling water treatment prevents spill and injury risks and also significantly reduces the plant’s carbon footprint profile.

G-C SolidTracⓇ Benefits

The G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment system provides companies with several benefits over the traditional system of liquid water treatment stored and pumped from drums:

Reduced Carbon Footprint

The solid-chemical dissolving system provides marked carbon-footprint-reducing benefits. 20 discs (100lbs.) are equivalent to one 55-gallon drum (500lbs.) of liquid chemical that has to be shipped, stored, and moved into place. Anyone can carry and place the disc into the system, and the discs’ small size and weight drastically cut down on energy used to transport the necessary water treatment chemicals. This weight reduction causes significant savings on fuel and a reduction of greenhouse gasses with this solid chemical cooling water treatment system. In addition, the solid disc eliminates freezing concerns if they need to be shipped or stored in below-freezing conditions. It also saves water by eliminating the requirement for triple-rinsing empty storage drums before disposal.

Smaller Storage Footprint

The typical 55-gallon drums can take up enormous space, particularly in storage. With each 5-pound puck of G-C SolidTracⓇ companies can re-purpose and re-imagine their space for more productive pursuits. It’s also far safer for employees to move from place to place without injuring themselves or causing chemical spills that can cause regulatory issues.

Green Friendly & LEED Certified

G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment discs contain reduce the negative impact on the environment and stress for leaders wanting to improve their ability to operate in a way that helps them meet their green targets. The discs are manufactured according to the EPA’s 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. In addition, because the chemicals are stored in a solid state, the risk of chemical reactions if exposed to other liquids is eliminated, which relieves significant regulatory compliance worries. The financial and environmental costs of drum cleaning, disposal and removal are also eliminated.

Reduced Risks and Liability

Because these chemical discs come in solid form, there is no risk of leaks during transit, storage or application to the system. The risk of employee injuries and Workers’ Compensation Claims can be drastically reduced because there are no heavy, cumbersome drums to move and transport, and there is far less risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals. G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment discs make the workplace much safer, more efficient and less wasteful.

Solid Chemical Cooling Water Treatment Applications

Cooling water treatment controls the buildup of scale and corrosion in open, recirculating cooling water systems and air washes, particularly in systems with moderately hard water and moderate alkalinity. The discs are formulated for use in systems that have greater than 500 tons of operating load. The discs can be formulated to your specifications, for various water treatment needs in your operation. Watch how the G-C SolidTracⓇ Water Treatment system works, and then please contact our water treatment experts today to learn more about how it can help your company.
